In remembrance of the late Adam Yauch a.k.a. MCA of the Beastie Boys, Shepard Fairey recently created several tributes to the hip-hop icon.  The billboards, appearing in a number of locations across Los Angeles, make use of a Glen E. Friedman photo alongside art clearly inspired by the Beasties’ 1986 debut Licensed to Ill. Fairey’s MCA pieces can be seen at a couple locations (Sunset at Las Palmas and another on Fairfax just south of Santa Monica Boulevard).  RIP.
