We had a chance to sit down with Zac from Medium Apparel<\/span> and asked him a few questions about his line.<\/h3>\n

What label, brand, or company are you with? And what is your title.<\/p>\n

I am from Medium Apparel. I am one of the Owners and the Creative director.<\/p>\n

What kind of products does Medium Apparel specialize in?<\/p>\n

Premium Street and Skate Apparel and Accessories<\/p>\n

How did you get into this business?<\/p>\n

I credit my success to Aleesha Smalls and Rocawear<\/a> clothing. In 2010\u00a0I won a contest as Rocawear’s ‘Next’ Visual Artist. I flew out to New\u00a0York, met the Rocawear family, did a photo shoot, the whole 9. After\u00a0that experience I was hooked! I knew what I want to do in life and who\u00a0better to open the door.<\/p>\n

When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

I wanted to be a solider, which I accomplished. I served 5 years in\u00a0the US Army.<\/p>\n

What inspires the designs behind Medium Apparel?\u00a0What kind of thought process goes into your collection?<\/p>\n

We draw inspiration from the streets; hip hop, street art, skating,\u00a0and life.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How do you guys at Medium Apparel feel about “Brand Jacking” where a brand mimics the\u00a0designs of another brand?<\/p>\n

I personally think it is for the weak. Build your own identity,\u00a0create your own boundaries and set standards that others want to jack.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

How did you come up with the name Medium Apparel<\/strong>? What does it mean\u00a0or stand for?<\/p>\n

Medium Apparel was one of the first ideas that came to my head when I started\u00a0rough sketches in my office. So many people make jokes, like haha I’m\u00a0a large but that just shows peoples ignorance to thinking a word can\u00a0only have one meaning. A medium is the material or technique with\u00a0which an artist works with. A painter uses canvas, a DJ uses turntables, we\u00a0use fashion.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

With the explosion of social media, what does Medium Apparel do to build\u00a0brand exposure? What social network is most important to your brand?<\/p>\n

Here at Medium Apparel we are all about social media, you have to be in today’s world. We\u00a0use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram equally to spread the word but I\u00a0think Instagram is my favorite because I can bring people into the\u00a0world of Medium Apparel visually!<\/p>\n

What is one style from the past that you wish was still popular?<\/p>\n

Guys wearing guys jeans…<\/p>\n

What is a current trend that you cannot stand?<\/p>\n

Guys wearing jeans so tight they look like spandex. On to the next\u00a0trend please…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Snapback or Fitted? Why?<\/p>\n

Personally, I’m a fitted guy and always will be.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Low tops or High Tops? Why?<\/p>\n

Depends on the outfit, but your shoe game has to be top notch. High\u00a0top, Low top doesn’t matter to me but I have to have clean kicks.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What are your thoughts on todays street wear scene?<\/p>\n

I love it, the styles are so unique. One brand will be all over\u00a0native prints while another brand might be for sneaker heads. Todays\u00a0street wear brands are a product of the generation that grew up\u00a0listening to all kinds of music, hanging out with all kinds of\u00a0different people and not trying to fit into a category!<\/p>\n

What do you see for the future of this industry?<\/p>\n

I hope to see it continue to grow. 5 years ago people didn’t go out\u00a0and start their own clothing brands because you needed a huge backer,\u00a0but now a days it is grass roots movement. Companies doing it all and\u00a0I want us all to succeed.<\/p>\n

What is one of the best things about being in this industry?<\/p>\n

The people we meet and hearing people get stoked about Medium Apparel!<\/p>\n

What is one of the worst things about this industry?<\/p>\n

For Medium Apparel it’s breaking into the industry. It is still real hush hush and secretive.<\/p>\n

How would you quickly describe your past 5 years in one short\u00a0sentence.<\/p>\n

The start of a dynasty.<\/p>\n

What is the average work day of \u00a0a Medium Apparel<\/em> employee?<\/p>\n

10 hours!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How many core members\/employees are apart of Medium Apparel?<\/p>\n

As of right now Medium Apparel has 3 employees but a core of family and friends that help us to no end.<\/p>\n

What sneakers did you rock as a kid?<\/p>\n

Velcros son! Strap ’em and tap ’em. Haha I’ve been a huge Nike fan my\u00a0whole life!<\/p>\n

What brand names were you rocking back in the day?<\/p>\n

I remember wearing T&C Surf, Vision Street Wear, Stussy and Mossimo\u00a0(back when Mossimo wasn’t a Target brand).<\/p>\n

In your opinion, what other brands are on the come-up in this\u00a0industry?<\/p>\n

Our homies in Racks and Stacks and Foul Play are doing great things!\u00a0I’m a fan of Breezy Excursion and Booger Kids, those guys are doing it\u00a0right!<\/p>\n

If you had to give up Medium Apperal today and go work for a fast food\u00a0joint, which fast food joint would it be?<\/p>\n

Subway, so I could become a sandwich artist!<\/p>\n

What was your first job?<\/p>\n

A bagger at a grocery store.<\/p>\n

Continued growth! The future is vast and we want to continue to\u00a0expand.<\/p>\n
