We could all learn at lot from David Choe. While most of us would prefer to receive our hard earned money asap, in 2006 Choe practiced a little patience, and now it’s paying off. When commissioned to decorate Facebook‘s original Palo Alto, CA. office he chose to receive stock in the company opposed to being paid cash for his services. The status of Choe’s shares are not exactly know. What is known is that Choes shares in Facebook, after the companies IPO announcement valued at $5billion USD, are valued at $200 million USD! Well damn. Last Month Facebook called Choe back to work on their new Menlo Park, CA. office.
With the recent news of Choes success, he has gained attention and admiration from everyone from Howard Stern to Barbara Walters. She even asked him to decorate her jacket during an interview.
Choe is a free spirit who decribes himself as a homeless artist thats spends most of his time gambling in Las Vagas casinos. When asked what will be different now that he’s rich Choe proclaims “Nothing, because I do whatever I want to now…” Be on the lookout for more news and art from Choe this year. As I’m sure this is just the beginning of what he has in store.
