What kind of products does Grime Styles specialize in?

Well Grime Styles specializes Tees, tanks, and crewneck sweaters for now, but keep an eye out for a hat release soon.

 

How did your Brand Grime Styles come about?

During the NBA lockout last fall I started redesigning some team
logos, giving them a kind of urban twist. I got such positive feedback
from my friends that I decided to start printing them on shirts.
Things grew quickly and now Grime Styles is serving customers all over the
world.

It’s funny because my intention was never to get into the fashion
business – I really just wanted to make funny tees for my friends. But
I certainly can’t complain about the way things have turned out.
Business is booming, Grime Styles is going to the top!

 

When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Definitely the point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

 

As a clothing brand where does Grime Styles get their inspiration for designs?

What kind of thought process goes into your collection?

Most inspiration comes simply from doing hoodrat shit with my
friends.

 

With the explosion of social media, what do you guys do to build
brand exposure? What social network is most important to Grime Styles?

Social Media has been an integral part of our success and growth.
Most importantly, it allows Grime Styles as a brand to connect with our fans and hear their
opinions. Grime Styles is on all the major platforms – find us on
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

 

What is one style from the past that you wish was still popular?

Those sneakers with wheels on the bottom.

 

What is a current trend that you cannot stand?

I’m not all that into girls shaving the sides of their heads.

 

Snapback or Fitted? Why?

Snapbacks?. They’ve got that old school feel.

 

Low tops or High Tops? Why?

High tops?much better for playin hoops.

 

What is one of the best things about being in this industry?

This industry is filled with incredibly creative people that love to
party. What more could you ask for?

 

What is one of the worst things about this industry?

Too much is done through of the internet and not enough is done in
person. But I suppose thats just a product of the world we live in
today.

 

How would you quickly describe your past 5 years in one short
sentence.

A blur.

 

How long is your average work day?

It’s hard to give an exact number of hours because I’m constantly
generating ideas to try and make the company Grime Styles better.

 

How many core members/employees are on the Grime Styles team?

It’s just me and my assistant, Taylor. We hope to hire a few interns
in the Spring.

What sneakers did you rock as a kid?

Fila, Reebok, And1.

 

What brand names were you rocking back in the day?

Umbro all day.

 

In your opinion, what other brands are on the come-up in this
industry?

I grew up in Minneapolis, so I gotta give a shout out to Check Your
Six.

If you had to give up Grime Styles today and go work for a fast food
joint, which fast food joint would it be?

Chipotle

 

What was your first job?

Selling candy to kids on the playground in 5th grade?I made an
absolute killing.

 

What will see coming from Grime Styles in the future?

We’re gonna do a spin off of every NBA team (and even a few from the
past). Seattle and San Antonio are up next.

 

What trends will be big in 2013 / 2014?

Overalls. Or rollerblades. Maybe turtlenecks.
