As they do at least 2 good times per year, Apple got the cyber streets talking and buzzing loud this past weekend. The main subject of choice is the iPhone 5 release date. Being an avid iPhone user and realizing that Apple likes to drop products in September, the rumored Sept. 21st iPhone 5 release date sounds right on point to me. The fact that the company has a confirmed conference scheduled for Sept. 12 to announce new offerings is also adding fuel to the i5 fire. This new iPhone is expected to be smaller once again, have a smaller charging port and the earphone pin hole has been moved to the bottom of the phone opposed to its prior home on the top.

There are also unconfirmed reports that Apple will drop a new ipod touch, nano, and a mini-iPad sometime soon. The latter of which has Apple enthusiast ~~shooting themselves in the~~ scratching their heads, and Steve Jobs turning in his grave. If this “mini” iPad pans out, it will be the first time that the company has steered away from the expertise and preferences of visionary Jobs since his death. He suggested that an iPad any smaller than the current size wouldn’t be able to sufficiently serve its intended purposes; and as I prepare this post from the 2nd generation iPad I couldn’t agree with him more. With the production of a 7 inch mini-iPad Apple seems to be following the current trends of tablet producers with the perception that less is more. It also kinda seems to be overkill, I mean we just got the iPad 3 released earlier this year. But who am I to second guess the mastermind “geniuses” at Apple, maybe with this smaller cheaper offering they can put the tablet market in the choke hold they’ve become famous for in the mp3 audio field. At any rate, we still really don’t have a true iPhone 5 release date (or do we), but it’s cool to make some guesses as we impatiently wait for it to officially drop.
