Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein<\/strong> was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday.<\/p>\n

“The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear,” a rep for the celebrity deejay said. However, it appears DJ AM’s death was drug-related.<\/p>\n

A crack pipe and prescription pills were found in DJ AM’s apartment, an anonymous law enforcement official told the Associated Press<\/em>. DJ AM’s body was reportedly found shirtless after police broke down the door to his apartment when friends could not reach him.<\/p>\n

DJ AM, who dated Nicole Richie<\/strong> and Mandy Moore<\/strong>, has battled drug addiction and survived a plane crash last September.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Nicole is in shock and hasn’t been able to stop crying since she heard the news!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a source told Star<\/em> of DJ AM’s ex, who is just days away from giving birth to her second child with Joel Madden<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Fellow deejay Samantha Ronson<\/strong> wrote, “Waiting for someone to say this isn’t true.” Lindsay Lohan<\/strong> said, “I can’t believe this… I’m in shock. Why? Why? R.I.P. Adam.”<\/p>\n

John Mayer<\/strong> wrote, “We’re supposed to lose our friends to time, at an age when we’re ready to agree to the terms of having lived a long life.
